Could Bearman replace Verstappen at Red Bull?
In short—yes, but the situation is far more complicated than it first appears.
Everything starts with one assumption: Max Verstappen decides to leave Red Bull. Whether that happens remains anyone's guess.
The obvious replacement would be one of Red Bull's own drivers, but none has yet established themselves as a consistent race winner or championship contender. That naturally shifts attention towards proven talent outside the programme. Drivers such as George Russell, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris fit the profile, although all appear firmly committed to their current teams.
That leaves Red Bull with very few realistic alternatives. Carlos Sainz is unlikely to return, Charles Leclerc remains central to Ferrari's long-term plans, Mercedes is fully committed to Andrea Kimi Antonelli, and McLaren has no reason to part with Norris.
One name that deserves serious consideration is Oliver Bearman.
The Briton has already demonstrated impressive composure under pressure, from his outstanding Ferrari debut in Jeddah in 2024 to a series of mature performances with Haas. More importantly, he has shown the mental resilience Red Bull has always valued in its drivers.
From Bearman's perspective, the move could also make sense. Ferrari's long-term line-up currently leaves little room for promotion, with Lewis Hamilton expected to remain until at least 2027. Red Bull, meanwhile, could offer a much faster route to a race-winning seat.
Whether that proves more attractive than waiting for Ferrari is another question entirely—especially with Red Bull's own long-term competitiveness still uncertain.
If Verstappen leaves, don't be surprised if Bearman's name moves much higher up Red Bull's shortlist.

Audi became the first power unit manufacturer to take advantage of the FIA's new Additional Development and Update Opportunities (ADUO) regulations, introducing its first update at Barcelona.
The performance trend is encouraging, especially considering that Silverstone is one of the most power-sensitive circuits on the calendar, making the relatively small qualifying deficit there particularly noteworthy.
Paddock reports suggest Audi's 2026 power unit features one of the largest turbochargers among the manufacturers, which could make Spa-Francorchamps another favourable circuit thanks to its long full-throttle sections.
At the other end of the spectrum, slower, traction-limited layouts such as Monaco and the Hungaroring may remain more challenging.
Another development package is expected before the end of the season. With no major correlation issues reported so far, Audi's development programme appears to be firmly on track.

How the F1 curfew works
All Formula 1 teams are subject to strict working-hours regulations, with personnel covered by the curfew monitored through electronic access-control systems at every paddock entrance.
This often creates long queues between 08:45 and 09:00, especially on race day, as team members arrive early and wait for the curfew to expire before entering the paddock.
